About Sanyo-Sanin Northern Kyushu Pass
Unlimited travel from Osaka/Kyoto to Northern Kyushu. Travel the Northern Kyushu (Nagasaki, Hakata, Kumamoto, Beppu) and explore the Sanyo-Sanin area all with just one pass!
The Sanyo-Sanin Northern Kyushu Pass lasts you for 7 days of unlimited rides on conventional lines, JR West/Chugoku buses and Miyajima Ferry! What's better is that you can ride on the popular "Yufuin no Mori" and "A-train" Limited Express trains as well as "Nozomi" and Sanyo-Kyushu Shinkansen ("Mizuho"/"Sakura")! It covers the trip between Kansai airport to the main prefectures (Osaka, Nara, Kyoto) in the West too.
After booking online, you can collect your Japan Rail Pass Exchange Order (EO) on the collection date and at the preferred Changi Recommends booth indicated during your booking process. Remember to collect your Physical Exchange Order from Changi Recommends counter before checking in for your flight.
After entering Japan, fill out the application form as necessary at an exchange location, and submit the completed application as well as an exchange order and your passport to receive the pass.

* The pass must be used within one month after exchange. Exg: If the pass is received on May 2, the pass must be used before June 1.
Service Trains:
The pass can be used on Sanyo Shinkansen (between Shin-Osaka and Hakata), Kyushu Shinkansen (between Hakata and Kumamoto), normal reserved and non-reserved seating on Limited Express trains (including Chizu Express lines), Regular Express trains, and local service trains (including Special Rapid and Rapid services) as well as JR West Miyajima Ferry, West JR Bus (route buses), Chugoku JR Bus (route buses), and Rent-a-Cycles “Ekirin Kun”.
- Use of Rent-a-cycle "Ekirin Kun" is available only to adults. Children are not permitted to use the service.
- Passes are also valid for Nozomi and Mizuho trains of the Sanyo Shinkansen.
- This pass can be used for "Hello Kitty Shinkansen".
- Passes are not valid on Tokaido Shinkansen (toward Tokyo from Shin-Osaka).
- Passes are not valid on Twilight Express MIZUKAZE, Seven Stars in Kyushu and “ARU RESSHA” trains, JR Kyushu Bus, B&S Miyazaki buses, and Special Rapid “A Seat” paid seating service.
- Separate fees apply when using a car or train where numbered boarding tickets are required.
- When using reserved seating, make sure to reserve seats in advance before boarding.
Shinkansen:
- Sanyo Shinkansen (Shin-Osaka — Hakata)
- Kyushu Shinkansen (Hakata — Kumamoto)
- Nishi–Kyushu Shinkansen (Takeo-Onsen — Nagasaki)

Conventional lines:
- Limited express, express, Special rapid service, Rapid service, and local service trains within the area
Conditions of use:
- The pass will be valid for 7 consecutive days from the first day of use.
The pass will be valid at 0:00 from the start day to 24:00 on the last day (all times Japan Standard Time). However, if the validity period expires while riding a train on the last day, the pass will be valid for the fare until the following day so long as the passenger does not exit the station, and for ticket fees so long as the passenger does not depart the train.
- Transport between Hakata Station and Fukuoka Airport is not covered
- For the latest train information, including delays and sections being temporarily out of service due to natural disasters, please see the JR-West and JR Kyushu websites .
- Once issued, the validity period and pass type cannot be changed.
- Validity periods will not be extended even in the event of non-availability of train services, delays, etc.
- Not available to residents of Japan
